Leaking tile clips

A leaking roof can be caused by a variety of issues, one of which is faulty tile clips. Tile clips are small metal clips that are used to hold roof tiles in place, and they can become problematic over time, causing leaks. We'll discuss the causes of leaking roof tile clips, and how to fix it.

There are a couple of common causes of leaking roof tile clips. One of the most common is debris build-up in the watercourse which is the underlying side of the roof tile, causing water to divert down the clip and enter the roof cavity. Another, is incorrect installation of the tile clip. if the clip is not installed straight and slightly off centre it creates a small pocket for the water tobuild up behind and seep through.

To fix a leaking roof caused by faulty tile clips, you will need to locate the damaged clips and replace them. This process can be challenging, as it requires you to remove tiles to access the clips and in some cases can only be accessed from the inside of the roof space.

In summary, a leaking roof can be caused by faulty tile clips. These clips can become damaged over time due to debris build up or improper installation. To fix a leaking roof caused by faulty tile clips, you will need to locate and replace the damaged clips. It is advisable to hire a professional roofing contractor for this process and for regular maintenance to prevent future leaks.
